Bad acting in a movie can destroy the work. A shakey camera in one shot can be annoying and not enough light on a key prop can deflect briefly but a bad actor is impossible to ignore and it gets under the skin of the viewer like a Bot Fly.
So how do we get the best out of our actors? Are there things we can do as filmmakers to make the actors’ job easier? Writer, Stand-Up Comedian and Actor Dave Pitt attempts to answer these questions and wonders if what goes on behind the camera has a much greater bearing on what happens in front of it than we can possible imagine.
