One of our talented team, came across this important documentary in the making and we wanted to raise the profile of it. Who is Alice Guy-Blaché? She may have been the first female director, possibly the first to tell a narrative, the first sync sound and film and possibly the only woman to have ever run their own film studio! Yet, despite all this, her story has largely remained untold and most people haven’t ever heard of her.

This documentary is being made as a Kickstarter project. They have already reached their target, but have increased it in order to pay for the rights to use original footage, interviews and texts. It seems like a very worthy project to support, with a story that influences cinema to this day.
